At Top Barn we know the importance of supporting individuals to learn, so we run a number of projects, courses and workshops with schools, communities, groups, businesses and individuals to help them develop skills within the farming industry as well as life skills.

Wild Goose Rural Training
Formerly known as Top Barn Training Centre
This 1.5 acre small holding, for all people interested in working the land, was started in 2000 on land reclaimed after gravel extraction at Top Barn Farm. Ten years later it has gardens whose produce is sold in local shops; goats, pigs, poultry, green buildings, a teaching kitchen, craft facilities, a classroom and workshops. The wider farm estate enhances the breadth and scale of the projects on offer.
Wild Goose take pride in being inclusive and personal; staff and students create a happy family atmosphere where everyone can thrive. There are six members of staff, all with teaching qualifications and the flexibility to teach a variety of subjects. Seven volunteers also contribute in practical or supportive ways to the Centre.
